The Security Group has been engaged in security research in the Department of Computer Science at University College Cork for over twenty years. We develop robust techniques for security and privacy in complex systems. Current research areas include security assurance, distributed/network access controls, security analytics, threat management, and security in cyber physical systems.

Research in the security group is funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), Chist-ERA, Enterprise Ireland and with support from national and international companies. Members of the group work closely with the Centre for Future Networks and Communications (CONNECT) and the INSIGHT Centre for Data Analytics.
